Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Aurader is an ebook reading and Text-to-Speech application that provides:

• Ebook reading and audio playback (supported formats)
• Text-to-Speech (TTS) playback
• Background music playback
• Library organization and management
• Reading progress synchronization and bookmarks
• Membership-based premium features

2. Membership and Purchase Services

Purchase and Entitlement Details:

• For new users, the in-app purchase flow currently provides a single one-time Lifetime purchase option.
• Some users may still have legacy weekly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions purchased in earlier app versions.
• Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment with no recurring charge.
• Prices are shown before purchase and payments are charged through your Apple account.
• Subscriptions, if present on your account, auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account may be charged for subscription renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings -> Apple ID -> Subscriptions.
• Purchasing Lifetime does not automatically cancel an existing auto-renewing subscription.
• Restore Purchases is available in the app to recover existing entitlements linked to your Apple account.

Free User Limitations:

• During the 7-day premium-access grace period, non-members can access Premium Neural TTS voices (English only) and use background music with no daily time limit.
• Non-members can keep up to 10 books in Bookshelf (including during the grace period).
• Non-members can keep up to 10 documents (including during the grace period).
• After the grace period, background music for non-members is limited to 20 minutes per day.
• Current free-user limits are shown in-app under Settings -> 7-Day Premium Access -> Non-member Limits.

3. User Rights and Obligations

User Rights:

• Access to reading and TTS features based on membership status and current limits
• Import personal ebook files for reading
• Use TTS to listen to books
• Receive technical support and customer service
• Provide feedback and suggestions
• Manage or cancel active auto-renewing subscriptions in Apple subscription settings

User Obligations:

• Comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Respect copyright and intellectual property rights of book authors and publishers
• Only import books for which you have legal rights to access
• Not use the app for illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Not attempt to reverse engineer the app

4. Content Ownership

Regarding user content:

• Aurader does not claim ownership of any book files you import
• You retain all rights to your imported ebook files
• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to use and read the imported content
• The app acts as a tool to display and read your content

5. Data Management

Important information about data management:

• Imported books and reading progress are stored locally on your device
• Deleting the app will remove all local data, including imported books and reading history
• We recommend backing up your ebook files externally (e.g., iCloud Drive, computer)
• We are not responsible for data loss due to app uninstallation or device failure

6. Disclaimer

We are not responsible for:

• Loss of data due to user actions or device issues
• Content of the books imported by the user
• Service interruptions due to force majeure
• Compatibility issues with specific devices or operating systems
• Losses caused by user violations of this agreement
• TTS pronunciation accuracy (dependent on engine and language)

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights related to the app application belong to the developer, including but not limited to:

• Software code and algorithms
• Interface design and user experience
• App branding and trademarks
• TTS integration logic

8. Agreement Modifications

We reserve the right to modify this agreement at any time. Modified terms will be announced in the app, and continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the modified agreement.

9. Termination

We may terminate services in the following cases:

• User violation of agreement terms
• App operation cessation
• Legal or regulatory requirements

10. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of your country of residence and applicable international laws.
